Terry Carter, better known as Col. Tigh on the Battlestar Galactica 1978 series or Sgt. Joe Broadhurst on McCloud, is an esteemed actor with a 50 year career. Finally he now has his own website for fans of his work.
During two European reunions in August/September 2005 the webmasters of this website met up with actor Terry Carter and discussed building him a website. Though most fans remember him from his parts as Col. Tigh on Battlestar Galactica 1978 or Sgt. Joe Broadhurst on McCloud, he started out many years before that. Some of the older fans might even remember him from the 1956 hit comedy Phil Silvers' Sgt. Bilko (aka You'll Never get Rich aka The Phil Silvers Show) where he portrayed "Private Sugarman", one of the first Black actors on equal-footing as a regular.
A life long actor, Terry Carter started out on Broadway and played the title role in Richard Adler's groundbreaking musical Kwamina. Before finally deciding that acting was what he really wanted to do, Terry Carter was world's first black TV anchor newscaster, for WBZ-TV Eyewitness News in Boston, the Westinghouse flagship station, from 1965 until 1968.
Needless to say this actor, that nowadays is a successful, Emmy Award winning producer, had an interesting career, of which you can find more about on his website. The site also has a forum where you can leave messages of appreciation for Terry or just discuss his work with other fans. Check it out!
