Grace Park (Lt. Sharon "Boomer" Valerii / Lt. Sharon "Athena" Agathon / Cylon #8 )

Grace Park

Actress Name:  Grace Park

Character Name:  Lt. Sharon "Boomer" Valerii / Lt. Sharon "Athena" Agathon / Cylon #8

Episode Appearances:  Main Cast on Mini-Series, Season 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Character Bio:  When we first meet up with Lt. Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, she's involved with Chief Galen Tyrol. She turns out to be a "silent" Cylon and when finding out she tries to kill herself. She later shoots Commander William Adama at point blank range. While being taken to prison, Cally Henderson shoots this copy and she dies in Tyrol's arms only to be reborn soon after. She allies herself with a copy of Six and tries to find a way to live alongside the humans.

Another copy, known as Sharon, was set up on Cylon-occupied Caprica as a mate for Helo. She fell in love with him, betrayed her own people and joined with the fleet. She was put in the brig and been held as a prisoner for more than a year. During that time she and Helo had a baby named Hera, but they are both under the belief that the child died.

She married Helo and has been reinstated by Adama, who gave her the rank of Lieutenant. She didn't want to be connected to the "old" Boomer any longer, so she now goes by the new callsign Athena.

Now returned to a basestar, the Cylon once known as Sharon Valerii (Boomer) is responsible for hybrid child Hera Agathon. She is part of the stand-off with the human fleet at the algae planet, but Sharon Agathon (Athena) recognizes her and she is denied entry to Galactica. Boomer tells Athena that her daughter is still alive. After getting confirmation of this from Commander Adama, Athena begs Helo to shoot her so that she'll be resurrected onto the base ship. Hera is sick, but she recognizes her true mother. With the help of a Six clone, Athena is able to bring her child back to Galactica. In the process the Valerii clone threatens Hera's life-and in the ensuing conflict, the Boomer clone is killed.

Trivia:  She started out as a model just like Tricia Helfer (Cylon #6)

She was NOT born on the exact same day as Katee Sackhoff (Capt. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace). Katee Sackhoff was born on April 8, 1980. The information that both were born on the same date was wrongfully spread on the internet for some time. Confusion originated at IMDb who had listed a wrong birthdate for Grace Park. Even after correction on IMDb, many sites kept listing her wrong birthdate. On a video interview published on SciFi Channel's official site in the fall of 2006, Grace Park mentions the mix-up and shows screenshots of the now correct IMDb page and several other sites that are still incorrect.

There's a golf champion also named Grace Park.

Grace Park was one of the last two finalists up for the role of Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, the other being Katee Sackhoff, who ultimately got the part.

What she's doing now:  Currently starring on Scifi Channel's Battlestar Galactica.
