Kandyse McClure (Lt. Anastasia "Dee" Dualla Adama)

Kandyse McClure

Actress Name:  Kandyse McClure

Character Name:  Lt. Anastasia "Dee" Dualla Adama

Episode Appearances:  Main Cast on Mini-Series, Season 1, 2 and 3.

Character Bio:  Anastasia "Dee" Dualla joined the military despite her father's disapproval. Three weeks before the Cylon attack, they fought one last time-and were never able to reconcile.

At the beginning of the story, Dee is in charge of monitoring fleet-wide communications. Just prior to the Cylon attack on the Colonies, she was the one who noticed the large number of malfunctions on board the other battlestars. After the massacre her duties included co-coordinating fleet activities such as jumps. In this capacity she is the one to discover that the Olympic Carrier did not jump with the rest of the fleet. Dee also helps to create a communications package for the experimental Blackbird fighter.

She dated presidential aide Billy Keikeya, who volunteered her to join the mission to the prison ship Astral Queen, which attempted to enlist inmates to help supply the fleet with water. Her team was taken hostage by Tom Zarek and his followers. Dee suffers a concussion during a Cylon invasion of the Galactica, then later helps President Roslin escape after her arrest. But she gets involved in another hostage situation when terrorists demand the surrender of Sharon Valerii and threaten to kill Dee. Keikeya, who has just been rejected by Dee, dies in that conflict. But during the same battle, Dee and Lee Adama become closer.

Dee then tries to help rig the election in Roslin's favor, but Adama discovers the plot. She eventually marries Lee and is promoted to Lieutenant serving on the Pegasus as it orbits New Caprica. She is able to give advance warning of the Cylon fleet's arrival so that the humans can escape.

Actress Bio:  African-Canadian Kandyse McClure became a popular young star through the teen-oriented Fox Family series Higher Ground (with future Star Wars star Hayden Christensen) and NBC's Saturday-morning series Just Deal. This "young Halle Berry" went on to become a rising SF star through her recurring role as Elizabeth Munroe on Showtime's Jeremiah.

Born in South Africa in 1980 and now living in Vancouver, British Columbia, McClure also won acclaim from a host of major newspaper critics for her role as Sue Snell, the haughty high-school girl who gains a conscience, in the 2002 telefilm remake of Stephen King's Carrie.

McClure made her screen debut in the 1999 TV movie In a Class of His Own. She has gone on to such telefilms as 2gether, Return to Cabin by the Lake, L.A. Law: The Movie and Framed, and starred as a college student caught up in a deadly love triangle in the USA Network Original Movie Passion & Prejudice. On the big screen, she has appeared in Romeo Must Die and See Spot Run, and on TV has guested on the Canadian series Da Vinci's Inquest and Level 9, played Annie Fisher in two episodes of Dark Angel, and starred in the "Abduction" episode of the SCI FI Original seventh season of The Outer Limits.
